We are thrilled to present two dance performances featuring Ballet Folklorico, one at 12PM and another at 1PM, in honor of Cinco de Mayo.
Ballet Folklorico Sol De Mi Tierra is a non for profit children's dance group that was founded to share dance as a celebration of life, Mexican heritage, and to reach new audiences while providing a safe haven for children who share a love for dance. Sol De Mi Tierra stands for "The Sun of My Land." Most of the performers' parents are from Mexico and want to continue the tradition of their culture. There are at least 20 different states from Mexico represented by Ballet Folklorico and there are several dances and costumes that represent each state.
The children involved in this dance company are from the age of 7 to 17 and attend Aurora, Cherry Creek and Denver Public Schools. One of the students is currently Miss Teen Colorado Latina!
This performance will take place near our community area, close to the southeast entrance of Stanley.
