You are invited to come listen to pain psychologist Dr. Jody Thomas discuss pain prevention and relief for children and families. Drawing on decades of research and clinical experience (along with the guidelines of all the major pediatric organizations) she provides practical advice and specific strategies to help parents be effective at keeping their child comfortable and feeling in control at the doctor’s office. Learn how to feel great about flu shots this year!

Join our friends at Aurora Public Libraries for a short story reading club! We'll meet once per month in August, September, and October, and each time we'll read and discuss a different short story with APL librarian Chris Grawl.
This is perfect for our friends who'd love to join a book club but worry they don't have the time, or our friends who are already in twenty book clubs and just can't get enough.
We'll have a copy of the story for each attendee, and we'll give you time at the beginning of our gathering to read the short story, so reading it in advance is not required.
In August, we read "Where I'm Calling From" by Raymond Carver. For September, we read "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" by Raymond Carver.
The October story is "Al Roosten" by George Saunders. Stories for future months will be announced later.
Let us know if you'll be there, and please spread the word amongst your literary friends!
