Do you have any large sturdy shopping bags, like the ones used by many retailers to bag clothing purchases? Here's a chance for you to help the environment and play a role in supporting women in need on the path to self sufficiency.
We've got two collection bins at Stanley where we'd love for you to bring in your large sturdy shopping bags, which will be given to Dress for Success Denver, a nonprofit organization that provides interview-appropriate clothing, employment retention programs, and confidence boosts to low-income women seeking employment.
Bags can be dropped off at the north entrance to Stanley and/or at the southeast entrance to Stanley, every day between now and February 15th.
Thanks, friends, for once again helping us help others.
You are cordially invited to attend a pop-up art gallery featuring social action posters created by fourth graders at Swigert-Mcauliffe International Ece-8.
The gallery will be located in the hallway that runs alongside The Hangar at Stanley, with a debut reception on Monday, January 29, from 6PM to 7PM. The art will remain on display through February 11.
Fourth graders at Swigert identified social or environmental issues they care about and then created social action posters to communicate messages about those issues. This project is part of the Explorations in Our Government and Economics units.
